Ed doesn't really like to socialize. Which is fine, he's ok, he just prefers to play Final Fantasy online with his friends than to go on happy hours with his work colleagues, and that's all, really. However, his old boss, Mr. Myers didn't seem to understand that, so Ed came up with "a little lie": a fake girlfriend. It was the perfect excuse and he never got a side eye again. Now that Mr. Myers retired, Ed just has to keep up with the story for the new boss around, who unfortunately asks a lot more questions than the other one. He's just trying to be friendly, so it shouldn't be that hard to convince him. The company's Holiday Party? Uuh, sure, she's coming! It'll be just one night for a whole year of peace. The little lie has worked this far, what could go wrong now?
