And now, I do see him.
My Alpha. My ruin. My obsession.
I see him standing afar off, a dark pillar among the other Alphas, his presence impossible to miss even in a hall full of power. He stands among them like he is born for reverence. My throat goes dry.
It doesn't take a full minute before his eyes find me in the shadowed hallway.
I'm away from the crowd, half-hidden in the shadows of the hallway, but he sees me anyway-like he always does. Like I'm the only thing his eyes can focus on. The room keeps moving around him-smiles, bows, laughter-but he doesn't look away. His gaze locks onto mine, and Naiari, my wolf, whimpers low in my mind, curling in on herself and trembling with need.
My body answers before my mind can catch up. My thighs press together instinctively, heat blooming deep in my core, slick and insistent. He tilts his head up slightly, and his eyes darken with hunger, letting me see the truth written all over his face. He's thinking about me. About us. About everything we've done in my dreams.
My breath stutters, and I can feel what he wants me to feel. My pulse beats between my legs, sharp and desperate. Then it hits me. Every memory-every dream-floods my mind at once.
His mouth on my throat. His hands pinning me down. The hard, perfect stretch of him inside me, claiming me, owning me. The heat rushes up my body until my head spins, and I feel cold and hot all at once, my skin prickling as if my body can't decide whether to burn or freeze under his gaze.
Until the vow is complete...
His voice ripples through my mind, deep and intoxicating, and my knees nearly give out.
