A Legend Reborn.
The Golden Age- When the Traveler arrived, a time of peace, prosperity, and infinite possibility sprouted from Earth. Mankind had launched hundreds- if not, thousands- of journeys across the system, connecting Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, even Mercury into an increasingly large web of life and technology. Fast forward to the end of the Golden Age- The Collapse and the Dark Age- alien races surge forth from outside the system- the Eliksni, the Hive, The Cabal, The Vex- all coming for the Traveler. He fought them all, sending his Light, his Power out, crushing the opposition. Then, He was crippled, retreating to a small town. Fast forward to the beginning of our age- The City Age- With His dying breath, The Traveler created the Ghost- small machines that can revive those capable of wielding the Light- His Power- and fight the Darkness. The Hunters scout out terrain, reclaim Dead Zones, and are the eyes and ears of the City- the Warlocks research the secrets of the fundamental ideas of the Darkness, predict future events, and enthrall themselves in the workings of the Light to understand it and to find new ways to work it into the Guardians arsenal- and finally, the Titans, Defenders of the Last City, and the burning lights of hope in the shadows. Honor-driven. Leaders. Warriors. The Protectors of Humanity. Deeply intertwined in the history of the Last City. What happens when one is reborn and becomes one of the few able to wield the flame of hope as his own, to burn off the shackles of darkness that have been crushing humanity's will and hope to dust, What happens when he experiences so much tragedy, so much pain, that he delves into the shadows? What happens, when he finally snaps? And what happens to his loved ones when they are forced to put him down? For countless millennia a race of Angels have walked amongst humanity as 'Watchers'. They brought the secrets of civilization to the world. These never sleeping guardians encourage souls to reach for their destinies and avoid their fates. Disappear: Into Shadow follows a Watcher named Azrael who is dealing with temptation. The former Archangel of Death is a rebel wanted by both Heaven and Hell. Devoted to her duties, she oversees the processes of life and death and leads a choir of other Outcast Watchers. To help in the evolution of souls and life, Azrael and her choir have been smuggling souls out of both Heaven and Hell and freeing them to live again. She believes that both eternal damnation or idle paradise can mean the stagnation of a soul's potential. When Hell becomes aware of her activities it beings an active hunt of her choir. Angels of Wrath also pursue her. Souls are an important commodity to places like Heaven and Hell. Meanwhile, a shadowed spirit is plotting to seize control of the world and its souls.
