Tragedy Strikes Local Community
A 17-year-old student, Heather Dean, was fatally struck by a vehicle driven by an allegedly intoxicated driver near her school yesterday afternoon. Dean was crossing in a marked crosswalk when the incident occurred. The driver was taken into custody and faces charges, including vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. A vigil is planned to honor Dean's memory. The investigation is ongoing.
