Seryean was never meant to rise above silence. A concubine placed in the palace without name or favor, her existence was barely noticed - until it was erased altogether.

The empire remembers her only as a shadow in the hall, a girl with lowered eyes and a voice too soft to echo. But once, long ago, something in her heart was touched by warmth - something they all seem to have forgotten.
