Lan Shu was once an orphan, sent to the prince's bedside as a mere pawn. For five years, she stood quietly by his side, until she overheard the words that shattered her heart:
"She's just a concubine, not worth the bother."
----
On the night he ascended the throne, she was gone, her life ended with a poisoned cup.
When she opened her eyes again, it was FIVE YEARS after her death. She was no longer Lan Shu, but Nan Shu, the cousin of a general's daughter.
He was a tyrant who had traded love for power, only to realize too late what he'd destroyed.
And when fate brought them face to face once more, the once cold Emperor lost all composure before the crowd.
Nan Shu wanted nothing but freedom. Yet on the day she tried to leave the capital, his furious voice echoed from the city tower:
"CLOSE THE GATES!"
----
The night he found her again, he trembled as he held her, voice breaking between pain and longing.
"Tangtang... it's been five years. Why won't you recognize me?"
A story of love that bloomed too late, and a man who would burn the world just to bring her back.
