Aegis-Aegir, apprentice to the wizard Phandale the Wise, accidentally teleports himself to a frozen arctic known as the Aurorean Wastes. With no direction on where to go he must find his way home. Religion is a matter of faith, magic is a force of nature to be studied, and the two other sentient species who inhabit Jarn, beside humans, are subject to the principles of evolution and adaptation.
