This is the entry I recently made for a writing competition and as such I felt it was right to upload the original. I hope you all enjoy. I will work on it eventually to expand into a novella, depending on how my other project goes.
An immortal kelpie, forever bound to his pond, mourns his mortal wife by revisiting her grave and reading her heartfelt letters. However, a chance encounter, culminating in the return of a precious locket, finally hints at a profound, long-awaited understanding.
