In a world where Severus Snape didn't die and was vindicated of his involvement with Voldemort, the Ministry of Magic has enacted a new yet also archaic law for the whole of the wizarding world. Arranged marriage died out decades ago, but the Magical Procreation Act was forcibly put into effect. If you cannot find yourself a partner the Ministry will find one for you, there's no avoiding it. Lavender Moorning is one such person who had a partner chosen for her, a bright soul compared with her new companion, Severus. {I hope other Snape heads like me will enjoy this! I'm not very good grammar wise but I do my best! This story isn't overly spicy, but does have potentially triggering themes of death and the like, discretion is advised.}

What happens when love isn't a choice but a law? The war is over. Voldemort is gone. But the wizarding world is left broken. Families are shattered, bloodlines are dwindling, and trust is destroyed. To rebuild society, the Ministry enforces the new Marriage Law, forcing witches and wizards together whether they want to or not. You never imagined your name would be matched with his. Draco Malfoy. The boy who once stood on the wrong side of the war. The name still carries fear, resentment, and bitterness. Neither of you asked for this. Neither of you wanted this. But fate, or law, has tied you together. What begins as cold stares, bitter words, and reluctant vows slowly turns into something else. Something dangerous. Something real. A story of redemption, healing, and love born from ashes.
