Aegis is a cyber-noir thriller set in a world where a portion of humans developed powers after a week long darkness: when the whole world was shrouded in a mysterious grey fog with no origin or end.

Aegis is a government organisation in charge of training Varients to become Anomaly hunters who maintain the peace and order by eliminating anomalies before they cause destruction or casualties.

With no past memories, Veronica finds herself recruited in Aegis X7 whose Chairman is Alric S. Morrow, and strange doctor claiming she is going to develop powers soon in near future.

But the seemingly functional system is just a cover, with danger lurking in every corner. People here have unwritten rules refraining them from mentioning 'Vesper' a not so hidden opposing faction of government. They call themselves Vesper, government ruling them out as a criminal organisation, but there seems to be more to it.

With the Government and the Vesper being in an unwritten power struggle, along with the expanding influence of the leader of Vesper, who is to be trusted?

As days go by, Veronica starts questioning whether Aegis is just a simple government organisation or a part of something bigger and twisted. Navigating her path through Aegis while trying to uncover her past, Veronica finds herself going down the rabbit hole; or maybe, she has been deep down the rabbit hole from the very beginning.

The starting chapters might seem a bit slow as to establish the necessary world building, but rest assured; things go downhill and plot thickens real soon.

"Three weeks. That's how long I got to have drama-free. I'm not sure what is happening to me or to Oakwood. Nothing's the same since I rolled into town and it just keeps getting weirder. Suspicious agents in suits roam the streets without an explanation. They're staring straight at me. The new Chemistry teacher is NOT who he says he is. I'm doing things I never thought I could. Like, mutant-level things... Lauren, Luc's dead twin sister, hid something from everyone. Something important that may have lead to her demise and that could lead to ours. Hunters are in town. I never knew four words could contain so much dread and terror. I'd rather deal with the Wanderers. I'm on the brink of a breakdown. I need help..." BOOK #2 IN THE SERIES! Ignorance is not bliss... In the wake of ridding Oakwood of Wanderers, other dangers come creeping in and they're somehow linked to Luc's absent twin. The past returns to haunt the mutants in inconspicuous ways. Riley's life is yet again in jeopardy, but this time she's not alone. Luc and his family are all thrown into the teetering balance. More secrets are uncovered. A trap dawns on them all. Invisible threats start crawling from all directions. Who is the real enemy? TW : behaviours of depression and PTSD are displayed. I don't name them, but one of the character will be struggling a lot. It may not be suitable for everybody. Other adult matters are briefly included, but nothing explicit or intense. Rewriting specifications : the main points of the story and end of the book will remain the same, am just going to change a few ways of getting there and adding some extra spice. Feel free to pause the read until the REWRITING sign disappears.

No one knows her name. No one remembers the program. Fifteen years ago, Project NOVA burned itself out of existence - a covert military experiment designed to create perfect human operatives through psychological conditioning, sensory deprivation, and combat reprogramming. Every file was erased. Every scientist buried. Every subject presumed dead. But one lived. Now, the woman known only as Nova moves through the world like a ghost - a silent weapon-for-hire with no allegiance, no past, and no record. Her efficiency is legendary; her detachment, absolute. To most agencies, she's an asset. To others, a rumor. When a classified threat surfaces - something tied to the same black-ops labs that built her - the elite strike team ONYX is ordered to bring her in as a consultant. The men of ONYX - Commander Asher Vale, sharpshooter Reid Hawthorne, tech specialist Kade Mercer, and demolitions expert Silas Ward - have spent years surviving on trust, instinct, and brotherhood. They follow orders. They don't take risks. And they definitely don't work with outsiders. Until she walks in. Nova becomes the team's greatest weapon and deepest fracture. Her presence ignites suspicion, desire, and a quiet terror that none of them can name - because the more they uncover about her, the clearer it becomes: Project NOVA never ended. It evolved. It's watching. And she isn't just their newest operative. She's the reason they were assembled in the first place.

Aeris, a once-naïve mage who had accepted to have her powers hidden by the Magic Government for protection, soon discovers how mistaken she was. Betrayed by people she trusted and hounded by the cult known as the Broken Star for years, she becomes their target after consistently refusing their request to join. When they strike, Aeris expects death-yet fate has other plans. Instead of perishing, she awakens in the depths of a strange forest, her body bruised from an attack by a mystical beast. Soon, she finds herself stranded in the Nemophilist Forest, a notorious wilderness on an island owned by the Hunter Association, where only the fittest survive the cruel selection trials. These trials are designed to test every boundary, subjecting participants to terrible physical and magical challenges, forcing them to face their deepest fears, and often resulting in death for all but the most hardy. Here, Aeris finds a peculiar man-Luther, a mystery figure with an unlimited energy source rushing through his body, making him an ideal and irresistible "food tanker" for her. His inexhaustible energy reservoirs can finally fulfill her devouring powers, which leave her eternally hungry and restless. What begins as an instinctual pursuit to keep him healthy and feed her ravenous desire soon grows into a far wider journey. As Aeris and Luther traverse the increasingly deadly trials, they unearth secret truths-about Luther's history, the diabolical conspiracy behind the Broken Star's strike, and the far-reaching power struggles governing the world. The world is darker and more intricate than Aeris had ever imagined. The legends and whispers she once thought were simply tales are becoming horrifying realities, and every new secret she finds only links her more to the webs of a conspiracy that threatens all she holds dear. Can Aeris escape the sinister plan around her, or will her need for answers and Luther's energy lead her to become a pawn in a far greater, more lethal game?

Selena Ashford's life was nothing but a monotonous shell-until one fateful morning, she wakes up as Seraphina Ashenveil, the villainess of the very fantasy romance she despises: Whispers of Hearts. Known for its twisted plots and the inevitable death of its villainess, Selena's new life is a nightmare. Ugh.. Why this stupid book!? As Seraphina, she is surrounded by two figures who mark her doom: her ruthless father, Aldric Ashenveil, and the male lead, Caius Valerian, whose cold indifference promises only betrayal. But fate throws her an unexpected twist-she crosses paths with Killian Valmond, the second male lead, a fiercely loyal and annoyingly arrogant knight who dies in a most pathetic yet stupid way for the female lead. Tsk, Cliché. But he is not leaving her side. He sticks with her like she's something which either needs to be guarded or protected. She can't tell which. Stupid Man. Seeking refuge, Seraphina hides in a small village, where the kind-hearted locals accept her without asking questions. Despite her growing frustrations with Killian's persistent presence, she begins to question everything she thought she knew about her new reality. Something is off-no one seems to be playing by the rules of the story, and the characters seem eerily alive, drifting away from their roles as if the book itself was a mere myth. Or Maybe.. Is it? Slowly, Selena uncovers unsettling truths that suggest her life, the worlds, everything might be a lie. As the lines between fiction and reality blur, Seraphina must decide if she can carve her own path to survival or if she's destined for a fate far worse than the book ever predicted.

She can't exist. And that's what the Earth will order - her immediate extermination. Unless the Ultimates decide to help her. Ultimates who exist from the same tech when it was legal.
