Book 2 to The Unwoken Protocol
YAKUBA LIVES FOREVER.
After defeating the shapeshifting creatures aboard their mothership, Eris and her team successfully made the trek back down to Earth. Her memory is slowly coming back, certain memories returning faster than others - most of which have to do with her ex, Caspian Fowler. These snippets of her life before the freeze have her imagining starting anew with Cas, pining after something that just quite isn't there yet. But on the other side of it, Caspian is desperate for Eris to remember what they shared and for their relationship to return to normal. Or as normal as it could be.
The team suffered a casualty and a few injuries as a result of defeating the eldritch-like creatures, but it is still considered a victory.
What will they find on Earth? They assume all of humanity is gone, meaning they will be left to their own devices on a planet that was catastrophically destroyed over four hundred years ago. Will they thrive? Will the planet even be inhabitable?

Emily Evans finds herself in an unknown place, her memories covered by a form of amnesia, when she was ten years old. City...London Country...England Continent...Europe Time...1995 With no where to go, and nobody she knows, she aimlessly walked around the city until she came upon this young girl and her mother as they were walking home. This young girl quickly got the attention of Emily, who was curious about why Emily seemed to be by herself. The young girl's mother also found this to be a curious sight, if not a little alarming. Upon the young girl's mother's quick conversation with Emily, they quickly found out that Emily had no clue as to where she was, who or even where her parents were, Emily didn't even know who she was. As such, the young girl's mother did the only reasonable, logical, thing...they took Emily with them and also called the police to let them know that she had found a little girl who appeared to be lost. Six years later, Emily's life appeared to be coming together quite nicely...until she met a mysterious stranger who quickly shook her world to its foundations. Instead of the stories she very much liked to read, she was now living a wonderful, mysterious, exciting adventure of her own. Some things are better left forgotten. Eris Neve is an employee at Yakuba Technologies, a powerful company that has been prepping for the end of Earth since it was founded. Eris and 799 other people were selected to be aboard their traveling ship, searching for the next planet capable of supporting human life. Not even months after departure, the ship was infiltrated. This resulted in their back-up safety feature coming into play. Cryogenic Sleep. All of the surviving members of the traveling ship were placed into individual cryogenic pods and put to sleep. When Eris finally wakes, she doesn't have any memories of her past. She can't even recall her own name. Not to mention, there's something particularly strange about the two men that woke her... Will she regain her memories? What happened on that ship? Caspian Fowler is Eris' "boyfriend" before the ship was infiltrated. Trepidation: Prelude

Everything operates under the silent, vague, but present scrutiny of the gods, with thaumaturgic talents dominating many human cultures in some capacity. Churches reign over the post-Altarum territories many years after the Silence. The World, at least as far as many within the Habitable Zone are concerned, is a cold, thoughtless plane of existence. It is within a single vessel, known as the CSS Groundskeeper, do things begin to influence the "Things To Be," as labeled by followers of the pantheon. Within this ship, two individuals will face the beginning of what is to be unimaginable horrors within an unforgiving universe, both with the same goal: do not succumb to the darkness.
