In the city of Tokyo, where eerie silence is the new normal, Aira Haruki plays deadly games in order to survive. Once a talented doctor, the 23-year-old now must use her knowledge of medicine and surgery to keep herself and her allies alive.
Alongside her former coworker, Shuntarō Chishiya, she must navigate this alternate reality where a simple playing card can cost her life.
She attempts to adapt to this new lifestyle in order to avoid death. However that soon changes when she crosses paths with Suguru Niragi, a violent, unhinged man who appears to be angry at everyone and everything - well, almost everyone.
Their obvious hatred for one another is clear at first glance, but soon becomes complicated when Aira begins to have feelings of ambivalence towards him. One emotion being hatred and the other? She can't seem to figure it out.
As the two are forced into close proximity at the Beach, their tension grows more and more with each game, causing confusion from both sides.

(look i hate niragi for his actions especially when he tried to SA usagi TWICE, this man is truly cruel and psychotic. That being said, this story roughly follows the timeline of the Netflix show but may have moments that don't fully line up.
