The protagonist, Oyin, faces many hurdles as she struggles to find her true self. After which, she has just passed through a near death experience that almost sends her to her dead mother Reyìn Lamèn. She later realises that the world is a weird place. As the veil of illusion over her face wears off over time. She finds solitude in her lover, Agwe. Who she thinks is her friend at first, but he is actually her spiritual betrothed, till death do them apart.
She finds that she will carry a generational victory to win all through her journey in life. She also comes to the realisation that she must protect her people the Miwatas from the Pimans while also being a Rogue with it.
