She wanted to be a Dragon Rider after she heard the stories about them from some traders from Eura, who come to Arctica to trade with the villages. Kya's prayers to Suka the Polar Bear, one of the fifteen Great Beasts, are answered when a woman claiming to be Dragon Rider comes to their village. When Kya touches a dark purple dragon egg and it hatches Kya becomes one of the legendary Dragon Riders. Nimue is a non important six year old from Oceanus. She is always swimming in the ocean where she feels comfortable, but on land with people she never feels comfortable, especially when the so called people are whispering about her calling her a freak and a witch. Nimue wanted to get away from her old life and her parents. She spent almost every waking moment in the ocean to get away from her village.
