Charlotte's home offers no sanctuary. Her father, a shadow of a man consumed by alcohol, brings violence and fear into her already fragile existence, leaving scars that run deeper than the physical. At school, the whispers and taunts of bullies serve as a constant reminder of her perceived weaknesses, pushing her further into isolation.

Cove Bentley. River Smith. Two complete opposites. While Cove has lots of friends, a great personality and an innocent aurora; River is cold, reserved, cruel, and most importantly, absolutely terrifying. River is the type of person everyone stirs away from, but somehow Cove is able to look past his reputation and win over his heart. River is quick to put his claim on Cove, and anyone who tries to interfere with their relationship ends up....not doing so well. Everything is perfect, River is the protective and caring boyfriend that everyone needs. Cove is the loyal and adorable girlfriend that everyone wants. But there's no such thing as perfect. When the truth about River's secret, or not so secret life reveals itself, will it scare Cove enough to run for the hills? Will their happy relationship be enough to make her stay? Warning: Mild cursing and violence. Also the story moves pretty quickly at the beginning, and there's a bit smut. All pictures belong to their rightful owners.
