brackish, "the water where fresh rivers meet the salt of the sea"

Forks is quiet in the way a held breath is quiet. Mist clings to the road like it belongs there, seeping into the seams of jackets, hair, lungs. The trees stand shoulder to shoulder, tall and watchful, dripping rain that never really falls. Out by the cliffs, the ocean moves like something ancient and half-asleep, stirring only when no one's looking.

And tucked neatly into it all is Mitch Keane - picture-perfect grades, picture-perfect smile, picture-perfect life - the kind that looks nothing but smooth from the outside.

Leah Clearwater didn't mean to unravel it with a head first collision. But some collusions don't cause total destruction, rather, some stir the water just enough to show what's been buried beneath - something brackish, and wild, and entirely alive.

UNWANTED

100 parts Complete

💔 Unwanted Lisa Manoban was born into the richest and most powerful family in Thailand. Her father, Anurak Manoban, a Thai business tycoon, and her mother, Kim Soojin, a Korean heiress, built an empire that ruled every industry-oil, hotels, automobiles, entertainment, stocks, and beyond. Her elder sister, Chaeyoung Manoban, and elder brother, Bambam Manoban, were admired everywhere they went, treated like royalty. To the world, the Manoban family was untouchable. But to little Lisa, it was all empty. She would run with tiny feet to her father, pulling his hand: > "Dada... pway wif me, pwease..." And his cold voice would push her away: "Go away, Lisa. You are not important." She would tug at her sister's dress, eyes shining: > "Unnie... Lisa sit wif you?" But Chaeyoung would shove her off with disgust: "Don't call me unnie. You're not my sister." She would hug her toy and look at Bambam: > "Oppa... pway toy wif Lisa?" But he would glare and snap: "Don't bother me, Lisa. You mean nothing here." And her mother? She never even looked at her. Just silence. In a palace filled with gold, cars, and diamonds, Lisa had no love-no mama hugs, no dada kisses, no sister, no brother. Just loneliness. At night, clutching her small hands, she whispered to the sky: > "God... why nobody want Lisa? Why Lisa unwanted... even by her own famiwy?" And in this whole cruel world... did Lisa have anyone who truly wanted her in their life? ---
