plasma ball has always wanted to help people, even if it's something small like changing a lightbulb or helping someone understand something about the race that came before them, the humans.
the only problem she has is that she can barely talk to someone who isn't her friend without feeling like she's going to pass out.
but one day after helping one of her friends she ends up causing a chain reaction that leads her to know stuff about the humans she never wanted to know.

Veronica plans to find out. ▪▪▪ Brown eyes, nearly obscured by rich locks of dark hair, stare into my light green ones with an intensity which nearly causes my knees to wobble. I can hear nothing but the thudding of my heart beating wildly in my chest, the sounds of the sirens turning into white noise at the back of my mind. I back up until my spine connects with the elevator doors. I shiver as my bare arms come in contact with the cool metal. "Someone help me, please," I beg. The man stalks closer still. His eyes are fixed solely on me, unmoving, intense. His fists are clutched tightly against his sides, as though restraining himself in some way. Restraining himself from what, I don't want to know. The man stops only an arm's length away from me. I stare up at him with wide eyes, my lips parted in fear. I stand frozen, unable to move. I shut my eyes, turning my head away. Laboured breathing, the touch of fingertips on my bare shoulder, breath on my lips. A heavy, deep inhale. Slow exhale. Lucy Carr was born with light. Just like everyone else. But as she got older the ball light disappeared and that's when she knew she had to go find it. Like she wasn't going to be okay. The sound seem to get loud the crowds laughter and talking seems to be turned up. Her vision blurred as she couldn't see anymore..as if she was crying. And she was. She was crying and it wasn't the happy crying that people have or the sad crying.. But the crying about how disappointed she was for herself.. How she failed again. The at feeling..it got worse...it got way worse to the point where she couldn't breathe. And as she stood there..in the middle of the crowd losing sense of herself...it was at this moment..the light that she had..it went out..and she knew only darkness.
