When my parents suggested I joined an after school activity, the book club was the obvious choice. And I'm so glad I did! Not only I met my best friend there, but also, she was the one who introduced me and Jordan.
And, yes, I know what you're thinking: "A good girl and a bad boy? That's such a cliché!" But, please, hear me out: Nothing is always quite as it seems, and, before I knew it, I ended up involved in a struggle larger than I'd ever imagined. In fact, that was what ultimately led me to take a stand in the war of good versus evil.
But, I'm getting way ahead of myself. Let me tell you the story from the very beginning.

When I was a little girl, I believed in fairy tales. I believed in princes and princesses and knights in shining armor. I believed in forever and happily ever afters. I was ten when reality hit me. My mom brought the evil home with her and there was no escaping it. That's when I learned that fairy tales were just that: fairy tales. The bad stuff is real, though. The difference is that I now know that the monsters and evil villains don't always wear capes and ugly scars. No: most of the time, they appear normal. I'm drowning in reality, in my life, and I've given up hope that a knight in shining armor will rescue me. But maybe... maybe I don't need a Prince Charming after all. I'm not like wonder woman, supergirl or catwoman. The only similarity we share is that we all have an extraordinary ability and are females. Many people would say having superpowers was a gift from god and the best thing that could ever happen to you. But not for me, being able to freeze time was more of a burden, because I couldn't control it and it had the worst timing to appear.
