Clara Daly is from a very Respectable family Among the ton known as the Dalysons (Dalys)
When she is FINALY of age, she is flung upon the marriage mart by her mama even after all of Clara's protest. But Clara makes a very fair impression among the Ton and the queen when she is granted the title "the most eligible lady" out of all the debutants know as "the Diamond".
This leads to a lot of men taking a fancy to her creating the need for her attention desired for to an extreme amount leading her father to become tiresome of it and marrying her off to the Duke of Oxford - a kindhearted and handsome man with a very large estate and a every larger wealth.

But the night before her wedding to the duke who she has now fallen madly in love with, she is abducted by a group of young men who try to take advantage of her leading her to scream out for help to try to draw attention.
Luck is on her side because she draws the attention of a woman who happens to be nearby. But this woman is a sorceress who is able to get rid of the men and save Cara. The woman ( Lila ) casts a spell on Clara granting her the ability to never be taken advantage of again. Although she is pushed into a deep sleep, she is awoken 200 years later by a mysterious man with one eye.
