Frank and Gerard meet under unfortunate circumstances. Frank sees his past self in Gerard as he watches him drown in his own sorrows. Frank helps Gerard, sees his potential and wants to pursue a friendship with him, a friendship that he hopes will turn into something deeper. A withdrawn Gerard won't make this easy for him as he stays lifeless and cold without a sound.
