Hot shot is five years old he lives with his parents Heatwave and Quickshadow. Heatwave is a firefighter and Quickshadow is a pediatric cardiologist who works at Cook Children's. Hot shot was born November 14 2020. and Hot shot was born with severe TOF, with TGA, three VSD, an ASD, Aortic stenosis and tachycardia. It was detected before he was born. Quickshadow thanked her lucky stars she worked at Cook Children's hospital and she had many good colleages there to take care of her son's heart. Her colleague Dr. Horn was going to be her child's cardiologist who was giving the best care. This made Quickshadow proud of the promise of Cook Children's. Hot shot was taken there a couple of hours after birth and when Hot shot was 4 days old he had his first surgery. Hot shot as he grew had 9 open heart surgeries, 14 cardiac catheterizations, 20 blood tests, 22 ECGs, 20 ECHOS, 6 medications, 1 pacemaker put in, and 29 hospitalizations for problems. Hot shot has not had an easy life but his little spirit was never broken. Hot shot made friends with four other kids his age growing up who also have very complex heart defects, Wedge who was born on September 18th, Whirl who was born on September 29th, Hoist who was born on October 8th, and Medix who was born on December 4th. Hot shot his friends still had a lot to go through more surgeries as they grow and medications but they do not let that stop them. They know life maybe hard for them but at least they are alive.
