As autumn settles in, Izuku Midoriya is caught in the bittersweet quiet of change. School is ending, people are moving forward, and he feels stuck-quirkless, voiceless, and left behind. Katsuki hasn't shown up to school, and Izuku spirals in worry, loneliness, and the ache of unspoken love. Even as he doubts his worth and wonders if Katsuki cares at all, he can't stop loving him. He takes on a job at his old coaches lifeguard station between his physio and training to go back to win the gold at least once. There he meets Izuku Midoriya, a man who became a lifeguard because he watched his first love drown in college.
