Clara Abeline Portman never believed in monsters-not really. That was Jacob's thing. Her twin was always chasing their grandfather's stories, clinging to impossible tales about special children trapped in time.

But when Abe Portman dies under brutal, inexplicable circumstances, Clara is dragged into Jacob's desperate search for answers. What was once bedtime nonsense begins to look dangerously real.
