New Book; If I'd Never Met You

Y/n is a smart, passionate and whimsical main character that enjoys spending time by herself as a way of avoiding the hurt and pain that comes with engaging with the "all-too-complicated" world.

She was orphaned at a young age because her mother died when she was fifteen years old, and her father abandoned her to start a new family when she was six. She is therefore raised by her uncle Josh and auntie Michelle with her cousin Amaya. This is why y/n and Amaya have a sisterlike bond that heals her.

When y/n starts secondary school, she is like most teenagers, not sure of who she is. This manifests in her acting out. She has a hard time processing the pain from feeling abandoned by both her mother and father, and wants to fill that void.

At fourteen she meets her first love, Calvin. The love is intense, but somehow mellow enough to simultaneously silence all of the pain, anxiety, and worry that she had learnt to adapt to over the years. And Calvin felt the same way. When he spent time with y/n it felt like all of his troubles went away. Their love tragically came to an end due to an unexpected turn of events.

With an overwhelming feeling of pain and sorrow, she vows to leave and never come back ... until she does ...

Moving back to London to live with Amaya scared y/n because of the memories attached to her mother, father and Calvin. But she was sure that if Amaya was beside her, it would be the right time to get over the past. Or at least try to. And what better way to do that than with a new friend group, reunited with her cousin and starting a masters degree in literature? However, how will she overcome the triggers associated with her old friend Luca that knew Calvin and her new friend Miles who reminds her of the soft version of her that was buried a long time ago?
