This earth holds over 7 billion people. The chances of meeting the most popular boy-band in the world are slim to say the least. The chances of falling in love with Niall Horan of One Direction are very slim. Unintentionally running into him on a holiday? Even slimmer. These odds do not seem to apply to Jess Thorne. Now let's add this to the equation, what are the chances of being diagnosed with leukemia while on a separate continent from her family? And what is her chance or survival? For Jess Thorne, one in a million is her reality. 

Jess is off to the UK come autumn to attend the University Of London. The next few years of her life seem to be on a blueprint for her. School is great. London is beautiful to her. She is happy. Niall is happy. When she is diagnosed her leukemia, she is determined to keep some happy front and decides to face it alone, leaving Niall completely unaware while on tour. She is determined to fight the cancer alone despite her slim chance of survival.

Ella is just a normal 17 years old small-town girl. She just finished High School and started her summer vacation. When the summer is over she's planning to attend a University. Ella's mother has gotten Ella a job for the summer, but won't tell her where it is, what it is or for whom she'll be working. Two days before Ella leaves for the job her parents tells her the job is in London. Ella has never been in a city as big as London, how is she supposed to live there for the whole summer? Where will she be living? She's not a child anymore, she's a young adult and will experience how parts of life as an adult is. Ella will meet new people and make friends and enemies. She'll make mistakes and she'll learn. It's a whole new world for her and she'll experience things she's never experienced before. But when it all is over, will it be forgotten? Or will her future become something other than what she had planned before it all started?
