The past had a cruel way of waiting for you. No matter how far Aanya ran, no matter how well she hide - it always found her. In the soft lullabies she sang at night. In the tiny hand curled around her finger. In the way Ira looked up at her with those same deep brown eyes. Aarav's eyes. She had erased him from every corner of her life. Or at least, she tried. But how do you erase the father of your child when she is a walking reminder of everything you lost? Everything you loved? Everything that broke you? The knock on the door came just after sunset. Three soft raps. Firm. Familiar. She didn't need to look through the peephole to know. It was him. Four years. Four winters. Four birthdays. No calls. No messages. No idea. And now he stood there-at her door, at the edge of everything she had rebuilt-with no warning, no apology, and no clue about the child sleeping in the next room. She didn't move. Didn't breathe. Inside her, rage and memory collided like fire and rain. "It was just a dare, bro. You really think I'd fall for her?" The words still haunted her like a bad dream. Only it hadn't been a dream. It was the moment everything inside her shattered. And yet, here he was. And in the next few minutes, everything would change again. Because he didn't just break her heart. He never even knew he left a piece of himself behind.

Book one from TALES OF SINS series ___________________________________ AARAV I watched as she drove away from the cathedral but unlike her words there was no sign of charity or donations around. What else would a person go to the church for? To repent for their sins? To pray for good health and life? Or to express their gratitude? I have visited many holy places in my life but none of those visits were for those reasons. Every time I stepped in front of God, I always had the feeling of frustration crawl into my mind and body. I always had many unanswered questions but no one around me could answer them. Each one of them is biassed, unaware of the truth, how would they answer my questions? How will they justify my rage? So, I decided to find the answers myself. It was all good until I ended up into a deal, the kind that would cost me my sanity. At first i thought i could survive her presence but soon i realised i would only survive in her presence. ___________________________________ MIRA I was all set to live my life freely until the word 'marriage' interrupted my dreams. All my life I had lived for others and finally I had gotten the chance to explore the world. A chance that was again snatched from me. My father was anything but a loving father who would care for his children, he never asked me what I wanted, always commanding and ordering around and I hated my mother who had taught me to shut my mouth when he spoke. Maybe because I was a girl, he never cared for me like he cared for Kartik, my sibling. I was a child who wanted to be loved, seen and a child whom the parents would take pride in yet it didn't matter whatever I did, I was always unnoticed by my parents. Everyone would tell me that I was good at anything I did but I wanted my father to say that he was proud of me and that day, it never came. Now I have mastered the art of going unnoticed but then he came into my life and revived the dying hope in my heart.
