In the city of Graybridge, something dark is happening.
Happy families are being destroyed. Houses burned. Parents killed. Small children - mostly little girls - are found dead or missing. The only thing left behind is a strange message written on the walls:
"EATER OF SINS."
Detective Elian Graves is leading the case. He moved to Graybridge five years ago to start a new life. He doesn't talk much about his past, but everyone knows he's smart and serious about his work.
With the help of his partner, Detective Rael Mora, Elian follows the clues one by one. But nothing makes sense. The killer leaves no evidence. No pattern. No face.
As more families fall, and fear spreads through the city, Elian and Rael must race against time before the next house burns.
But some questions are harder to answer.
Why is the killer targeting families?
Why only little girls?
And what does the message really mean?
The dates match. Everything added up. How could I not realize it? The bodies. The charges. The gossip. The rumours. The accuracy. The deaths. Every single body went missing. They were right, I should have listened. I knew something was weird, but not this bad.
Church on Sundays, book club on Mondays, Bible study on Wednesdays, their kids' games on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Charity donations on Fridays, and dates on Saturdays. I guess its true what they say. The biggest monsters don't hide in the darkness of your closet. Instead, they smile in your face in broad daylight.
The worst demons don't conceal themselves in your shadow. They thrive in the light. The darkest souls own the brightest smiles. A light so captive, you don't even realize they've gotten so close. Don't even realize when you've befriended them and their darkness has touched you. So, Sometimes, to find the ugliest monster, you have to look in the mirror.
P.S, the tags should serve as a warning as well.
This story is my own, which means I own the characters, plot, etc.
However, I did get some inspiration from James Patterson's WOMEN'S MURDER CLUB, just with a slight twist ;)
