The Warmth of the Second Sunrise

How does it feel to be loved? How does it feel to be chosen and pursued by someone you want to be with?

For him I'm just a fleeting moment, a waiting shed abandoned when the rain subside, a place to rest but never been a home. The benches creak with the weight of strangers, each one a story untold, a journey unshared. I sit among them, a footprint in the sand that gets washed away with the tide, leaving no trace, never lasts.

Perhaps someday will be different.

Maybe there will be a time when I'm not just a temporary fix.

Maybe someday I'll be more than just a placeholder.

Maybe one day there will be a Warmth on the Second Sunrise.
