The floor is tilting again. Mala, age 2¾, clutches her glass snake Ipfa and waits for Sarm to come. But today Sarm is cold again. Her new sister knows too many words. The walls do not want to help and the void in the sky is watching. Mala knows her purple friends are building something urgent in the dark. She must not let the grown-ups take them away.
A story told from the perspective of a toddler in the distant future. The protagonists are the same characters as More Than Lights on my profile, but the two stories are standalone. You can read them either way around (or just one of them) and it'll make sense.
