Margaret Harrington is a coward.
She's afraid of speaking up in class.
She's afraid of making friends with the cool art kid in her history class.
She's afraid of what happens if she breaks her parents rules. No boys, no sleepovers, no leaving the house. Most important of all: no telling anyone what happens if she breaks the rules.
And unfortunately for her, Steve is just as scared of their parents.
