💥 Story Plot Summary:

In the year 2040, as war rages between the Philippines and China, Isabel Ramos, a resilient young Filipina, lives quietly in a rural town, away from the frontlines but not from danger. One night, she discovers an injured man in her backyard - Li Wei, a young Chinese merchant caught in the crossfire, wounded and alone.

Despite her fears and the hostility between their countries, Isabel secretly treats Li Wei's wounds and hides him in her basement. Over the next few weeks, they bond - sharing stories, laughter, language, and eventually, love.
