The story opens up with Marceline, Bubblegum, and Simon living in Marceline's house in the cave, with Finn, Jake, BMO, and Shelby the Worm who lives in Jake's Viola crashing in an RV on the other side of the cave's lake, having moved there since the series finale.
The seven of them spend a lot of time together, and so on the first time Bubblegum and Marceline have had a chance to truly be alone, they decide to make the most of it, with even more fruity fun occuring after one of PB's scientific elixir's get involved.
Later in the story, Marceline, PB, Simon, and gang venture off into The Nightosphere, have a body swap panic, and so so so much more.
