After an incident at a movie premiere, Olive Rivera swore she would anything it took to make it in the movie industry...anything except ever working with Jayda Taylor again. Jayda is everything Olive isn't; confident, experienced, and beloved in the industry. But just when Olive thinks she has her chance, she's forced to work with...you guessed it, Jayda Taylor.

Forced to play friends developing feelings for one another, they can barely stand to be around each other. But as filming begins and the director demands raw, believable chemistry, Olive and Jayda are forced to spend long hours rehearsing, fighting through tension, and delivering lines that hit far too close to home. Somewhere between takes, insults turn to banter, banter to late-night confessions, and the roles they're playing start to mirror something real.

Lights, Camera, Longing is a sapphic, slow-burn, enemies to lovers story about fame, vulnerability, and falling for the last person you ever expected-right on cue.

This is my first story so please let me know what you think! :)

In which... At the University of Sydney, sparks fly in the lecture halls when Isadora Rodriguez, a sharp-tongued, charismatic overachiever with a wild streak, collides with Simon Seville, the uptight, bespectacled academic perfectionist known for his cold logic and killer grades. What begins as a war of words and one-upmanship-sabotaged presentations, snide remarks, and brainy brawls-quickly spirals into late-night study sessions full of tension, quiet admiration masked as competition, and stolen glances they refuse to admit mean anything. As the year unfolds, the walls come down: Isadora sees past Simon's stoic exterior to the boy who's been pushing himself to exhaustion, desperate for recognition and security. Simon discovers the vulnerability behind Isadora's bold front, the insecurities she hides behind her sarcasm and chaos. There's jealousy. There's denial. There's a moment in the library that almost turns into a kiss. There are rainy nights, blanket forts, drunken confessions, and the quiet realization that they've stopped wanting to win against each other... and started wanting each other. The tension breaks somewhere-with one impulsive, heated kiss that turns into a full emotional unraveling. By the time they admit their feelings, it's messy, beautiful, and absolutely worth every insult hurled. From rivals to reluctant partners, to lovers who now know every version of each other-this is a story of growth, vulnerability, chaos, intimacy, and undeniable love between two people who never expected to fall for the one person who challenged them the most. Enemies to lovers Slow-burn with explosive payoff Fluff hidden under layers of angst and tension Smart people being absolute idiots about their feelings Longing. Pining. Banter. Chaos.

Janessa Reynolds has two problems. One: She's the only single person in her friend group, which means she gets the pity nod every time couples start talking about "weekend getaways" or "date night rituals." Two: Instead of just admitting she's single, she's been sending herself fake love letters for months to make it seem like she's got a swoon worthy, mysterious boyfriend. It's been going great... Until Alex- the smug, know-it-all thorn in her side- decides to publicly call her bluff. Just when she's about to be exposed, in swoops a tall, dark, and ridiculously confident stranger named Mickey Callahan, who plays along without missing a beat. Crisis averted. Pride in tact. Mystery savior vanishes into the night. Fast forward and Janessa's out partying with her friends, bragging that her "boyfriend" will totally be there. And then- plot twist- there's Mickey again. Desperate, she asks him to be her date for the night. Amused, he agrees... And turns out to be disgustingly good at the whole fake-boyfriend thing. But somewhere between the hand-holding, the lingering smiles, and the whispered inside jokes, Janessa learns Mickey's biggest secret: Mickey isn't a he. Now Janessa has to figure out what's real, what's pretend, and why her fake romance is starting to feel a lot like the real deal.
