Vanessa is a sixteen year old orphan from Vermont. With a rough past and no hope of getting adopted, she is surprised when one day a lovely couple walks in and adopts her into their family. The Harringtons are a rich family from Connecticut. They very warmly welcome Vanessa into their million dollar home which is also lived in by their son Noah. Noah and Vanessa quickly form a brother sister relationship and he helps her navigate the hallways of her new private high school. With all these new changes, Vanessa catches the attention of the school bad boy, also a son of a very rich family, Mason Pruitt, who may even be more damaged and dark than she is. From poor to rich and lonely to very well known in the matter of twenty four hours. Vanessa slowly learns how to cope with her new life the best way she can, but when she falls for Mason, her life encounters even more rollercoasters than she could have ever imagined. She learns how to deal with his anger and controlling nature, but when their love turns lethal, she may not come out of it alive.

He seemed rude and like he didn't belong. Meeting him went well, and she catches his eye. Going to school together and their families spending some time together causes them to grow closer.
