Prologue
I sold my world to fit inside someone else's at 20. Now that I'm 23, I still haven't found my way back. Somewhere along the way, my entire world was traded for a love that couldn't hold me - or maybe I couldn't hold it.
This book is the joy I found in heartbreak, though it may not always sound joyful. Sometimes, you have to let the emotions out before you can finally let go.
These pages are me - letting go.
Letting go of her, and every woman who touched my heart, broke it, or saw it in ways I couldn't. Every poem is a moment I lived through, a wound I wrote through.
I'll always love you all - even if it hurt.

WHEN THE RAIN FORGOT TO FALL
I wrote this because I needed to survive it. Because there are some feelings too big for silence. Some heartbreaks too heavy to carry alone. This isn't fiction. This is my heart, broken open and rearranged into verse. "I saw you standing where the sidewalk curves, and suddenly my chest knew different words." - That's how it started. A glance. A stranger. A feeling I couldn't ignore. "You said we needed to talk. Those five words, I knew. I already knew." - And that's how it ended. Not with fire. With silence. I won't tell you that time heals all wounds. I won't say everything happens for a reason. I won't pretend heartbreak makes you stronger. But I will show you that: You can survive what you think will destroy you. You can break and still become beautiful. You can love someone and lose them and still be whole. I used to think there'd be no living without you. Then, you walked away. Like it was the easiest thing in the world. We finally stopped making sense to you. So, you left. Why wouldn't you.
