Maria had anxiety and battled self-harm. She never fit in and had lost the only two people that had ever seemed to care. School was a battle with or without her anxiety medication. She was the main target for any and all bullies.
One day Alex shows up at her school as the new kid. Besides him being the new kid, other attributes of his character had made him very easy to pick on. He also had anxiety and fought self-harm.
Maria meets Alex and things in her life begin to change. Some for better and some for worse.
