The Certamen

12 men and 12 women are taken from their homes and thrown onto an unforgiving island in a game called The Certamen. They have 40 days to outwit, outplay and outlast each other. The first half of the game is called Simul, they are split into two Clans, Parva and Parum. Every two days they are participate in a challenge to deem one Clan safe and the other is sent to Collatus to vote out a contestant as a sacrifice to the island. The other half of the game is called Quod, where they play individually for immunity. Once they are voted out they are placed on a jury to crown the Sole Survivor at the conclusion of the Game. The Shadower is the Master of The Certamen, he controls the challenges, the castaways and the island.
