Theo Reynolds is a commitment junkie. He loves too hard and falls too fast. He has hope, he knows the right girl is out there, he knows what he wants and needs. It's not hard to fall for Theo. He's an athlete and the perfect boyfriend, so he says. He does whatever they want. A people pleaser, if you will. When he experiences heartbreak, he throws a party for his whole class. The latest of his heartbreak was Sandy. They dated for four months, he was the first to say, 'I love you' and she didn't say it until their third month in. Sandy dumps him because he's 'too intense.' She claims he doesn't know how to really be in love. He believes he has felt it before and it's with her.

Jasmine Griffin doesn't do boyfriends. Well, she's never had one. One sided crushes don't count. But she has been on dates. Group dates. Fine, she's a third wheel. The last person that she opened her heart to was Nick, she expressed her feelings and Nick calls her a little sister, which is worse than a friend. She's grown pessimistic but keeps up with hope.

Theo comes up with an idea: fake date the girl in his biology class to make Sandy jealous. Jasmine, on the other hand, knows things will go wrong. People will find out it's a lie. Theo believes they can convince the entire school of their faux relationship. He knows for a fact Sandy gets jealous whenever a girl talks to him. Once she sees it, she'll beg for him to come back. However, his fake feelings become real for Jasmine.
