Isla Morretti is a 21-year-old nursing graduate from Grand Rapids, Michigan, who recently lost her mother Elena to a sudden heart attack. While going through her mother's belongings, she discovered shocking family secrets: she has a half-brother named Sam Uley living in La Push, Washington, and she inherited property there from paternal grandparents she never knew existed. Feeling suffocated by grief and the weight of memories in her childhood home, Isla decides to pack up her life (including her six-month-old Tibetan Mastiff puppy, Hades) and drive cross-country to La Push to meet Sam and explore her Quileute heritage.

Paul Lahote is a 21-year-old from La Push with a reputation as a hothead and heartbreaker-a reputation built mainly on one spectacularly bad breakup two years ago with Rebecca Black that was publicly humiliating and led to misunderstandings that snowballed into community gossip. The truth is, Paul is actually a hopeless romantic trapped behind walls of self-protection, struggling with feelings of being stuck and defined by others' expectations. He's best friends with Sam Uley, who serves as both friend and alpha figure.

I will not be following the storyline for Twilight. There will be a mention of some things that happened in the movies, and I may include some scenes, but I haven't decided yet. I am considering two options: either starting the storyline around Breaking Dawn Part Two or writing about the pack's life after the battle against the Volturi.
