Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. The Star Trek universe is incredible and vast but this story aims to explore something new - the hubris and flaws of the Federation. It tells a new tale of good people, including familiar heroes, who make the wrong decisions. It is challenging, engaging and unique. It focuses on the deep moments within a story arc that engulfs the galaxy and changes it forever. It has been nearly a decade of work, and the story has changed as I have grown from a young teenager to an adult. It has become a novella based around both new and familiar characters, told in a unique format from the perspective of a deeply knowledgeable historian and spanning three time periods. It's tagged as gay, but it's no normal boyxboy. It's an epic tale about destiny and the end of the galaxy. There's beautiful love between the two main characters that is just ... there. No one is safe. One fifteen year old boy knows this better than anyone. He and his older sister lived together, sticking to the dark alleys of their abandoned city, and survived for years after the apocalypse, until the Destroyers came and took her away, reigning terror on the few who remained in the city. The boy, desperate to find someone to help him save his sister, leaves the city and finds one of the youngest cooperative packs in North America, called the Raiders, comprised of unwanted individuals with the strange powers left from the destruction of years past. Their leader, a destructive insomniac, promises to help him in return for the skills and usefulness this young boy seems to possess, but something disrupting sends waves of unease through the Raiders, something about a forgotten past and talk of a mutiny. "Maybe there's more to life than just surviving." ... Rated C for Caution. Though it's rated mature, there is no bad language or vivid descriptions of sexual contact. It does have very strong themes.
