Sometimes, words are like stars; you can't always see them until you force yourself to stop and look.
Asha was going to be a Broadway star, but her own mental issues drove her to substance abuse. Her price to pay for this? Throat cancer. And it ruined her life. Now, she has no direction in life and she becomes more and more of a suicide risk by the day. But she also finds that she has all the words she needs to tell the world how to live on. Will she speak for the world or will her need to leave the world be the end for her?
This is a short story that I wrote. It has some content about cancer, suicide, substance abuse, depression and other topics like that. I recommend being 12 or older before you read this. I use very artistic and metaphoric language in this story. It is good for someone who is looking for well used language.

I've been through my own struggle, whether it was created in my head by way of prolonged sadness or bitterness/resentment, or if I was struggling with things I had no control over like failed friendships, a broken heart, or family drama. Alexandria (Alex) Miller was the daughter of Georgia Miller and the 'twin' sister to Virginia (Ginny) Miller. She had gotten the name Alexandria because that was the name of the town her mom had a one night stand with her father who she didn't really know. You are probably thinking about how Ginny and Alex could be twins when Ginny is black but Alex is Chinese but to answer that question is that Ginny's dad and Georgie had a fight and broke up. Georgie ended up going to a bar where she met Alex's dad and they had a one night stand and a couple of months after that Georgie found out she was having twins but they didn't have the same dad. But the fact that Alex didn't come from Zion (Ginny's dad) Georgia still loved her and made sure she always knew that. Georgia had told Alex's dad but he said that he wasn't ready to be a dad but he did send money, clothes and toys for Alex, so at least he did that right? Now unlike her older twin Ginny, Alex looked up to her mom because Georgia Miller was a smart and beautiful woman who knew how to get what she wanted and always did her best for her kids even if Ginny didn't see that. Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more.
