Everyone Mackenzie has ever loved has died. She has grown up for the past couple of years with her little brother and grandma, but when her grandmother passes on too she starts to question the coincidence of it all. When her father has decides to re-enter her life, she finds stranger things start happening--including the gorgeous man with no aura that shows up in her backyard while she still grieves her grandmothers death. Kye's Reaping days consisted of the boring routine of manipulating souls to walk into the light, never communicating with anyone other than the dead. But when a girl with a sad smile and an overdramatic best friend actually witnesses him without dying soon after, he becomes intrigued by the high of life.

This is a continuation of The Grim Reaper's Girl. It is a story about what the Grim Reaper and his two companions, and how the trio investigates the journey after death. Please read Book 1 first! Death was supposed to be simple. A courier collects a soul. A door opens. The soul moves on. The cycle continues. For millennia, the Grim Reaper has done his job without question. Until Mindy, a seventeen-year-old who should never have escaped the void, forces him to ask: what if the system itself is broken? When they meet Nick, everything changes. The system? It's not broken. It's working exactly as designed. And that's the problem.
