The main character, Saline Jung, is a hard-headed kid. She's always fighting, mouthing off to teachers and other students. Even her parents. She's seen as the difficult child, disobedient, rambunctious. no one understands why she's this way besides her parents and boyfriend who is the only person doesn't see her as a rude, mean, distasteful person. Jasper, her boyfriend. He sees a side of her no one else does and strides to show people what he sees in his future wife.
