But in private, both women are suffering. Emma is the victim of domestic abuse; Betty is in the early stages of dementia. When Betty's mental health begins to deteriorate, Emma suspects that dementia is not the only cause. Convinced that Betty's decline is linked to the dark secrets buried within the pages of an old diary, Emma vows to uncover the truth and help her new friend.
