Hybrids have been around for awhile now, albeit few. It started when scientists decided to test the bounds of science and nature by combining animal genes with those of humans. The first few tests were unsuccessful but as they developed their technology and analyzed data they managed to succeed. However, it only worked on adult subjects as children were far too fragile for the tests, not to mention they weren't fully developed. The tests were then shut down temporarily for their inhumanity and for its fatal failures. Although shut down, their experiments were still alive, continued by the Leo Corporation. Leo Corp did not combine human and animal DNA, they studied the existing and surviving subjects from the previous tests. They then became aware that the genes of one of the First-Gen hybrids had been passed down their child. The scientists on the original project didn't think it possible but it had proven them wrong. For the first time hybrid genes had been successful in a child. The Leo Corp paid a hefty sum to study the child. The parents accepted. Using the knowledge from the child, they attempted to create First-Gen children hybrids. Two of their tests succeeded. Once they had their success they had no need for the Second-Gen hybrid. No one knows what happened to them after that. This book follows the Second-Gen hybrid and what happens after those events as well as visiting back to the experiments. Rated Mature. Please read the tags, I don't want anyone becoming uncomfortable with the themes of this story.

" " We'll just make sure the government won't know about this. " After some years of selling different kind of hybrids the government eventually know of this. They plan on stopping this kind of transactions but it's already too late. People falling in love and mating with their hybrids causing it's population to increase. The scientist's payed their crime in jail and got their head slashed off their own body. Government approve that people can take care of hybrids but can be sentenced to being put in jail for a life time if known of abusing them. Everything sounds peaceful now aren't it? This story is about two groups of kids who's parents when through some sort of testing that didn't work on them, but worked on their kids. So now the kids can turn into wolves. Their a lot like werewolves only a few things are different. One silver doesn't hurt or kill them. Two they no longer go by their real names, but the names they gave themselves, and three the two different pack try to kill each other. However there is a bit of a twist in this story. The people that did the testing on the kid's parents come to get the kids themselves. In order to keep themselves from being taken the tow pack unite and fight side by side. And two of the kids that are both from the opposite pack, their curse on each other turns into love, but can that save them or will that deft them? Firstly, it was just the prisoners that were used. Then it became orphans, and even some of the elderly. Now it is everyone in a society where people are struggling to find work. Money is offered to anyone willing to volunteer themselves or their children to take part in scientific trials run by the organisation called Calox. Except no one ever gets the money. No one is ever seen again once they've volunteered for the trials. (This is the first book in the 'Children of Calox' series. 'Flames' is the sequel, and therefore the second book in the series.
