Fuyumi had known from the moment he had first stumbled into her life.

It wasn't the way he smiled-awkward but sincere-or the way he bandaged his wounds without complaint. It wasn't even the polite way he bowed when he visited the Todoroki household with Shoto, soaked from the rain and still apologizing for intruding.

It was something else. Something in his eyes-green and searching, like he was always trying to carry the weight of the world and still ask how you were doing. Fuyumi had seen broken people before, had mended more than her share of quiet hurts... but Izuku Midoriya wasn't broken. He was still fighting to stay whole. Now, years later, she's not sure when casual dinners turned into late-night conversations, or when hero reports became inside jokes shared over tea. But what she is sure of is this: falling for a hero wasn't part of the plan. Especially not one like Izuku-bright, selfless, and completely unaware of how deeply he's tangled himself into her life.

As the world grows more dangerous and his hero work pulls him further into the spotlight, Fuyumi must confront the quiet fear she's always harboured: that everyone she loves eventually burns out... or disappears entirely.

Can she allow herself to love a man who constantly puts himself in harm's way? And can Midoriya show her that some people don't leave... sometimes they stay?
