This journey from unfamiliarity to reconnecting with authentic self expression is what Onarietta documents in her début poetry book, A Diary of Soul. In each entry, she records new discoveries, old pains, hidden fears, joys, and hope that keeps her going, through poems and poetic prose. A Diary of Soul is a companion book for anyone that seeks to learn how to confront and comfort the dark and hurt parts of themselves. It is a guide to finding yourself and creating an identity beyond negative personal expressions and experiences. • Each part (Being, Reawakening, Refining, and Becoming) represents the ever-reoccurring cycles of growth you experience as a person, even as you learn to accept who you are, discover your potential, and grow into more authentic expressions of Self. || Original Description: A collection of poems and poetic prose. This is somewhat of a memoir. I have written these notes and poems to make you feel hope and dread, seen and heard. I have also written them to make you dream, for I shall not dream alone. Anatomy of the Soul
This is me-no filters, no edits, just my soul laid bare in words. Anatomy of the Soul isn't just a collection of poems. It's my way of reaching out when words feel like the only thing I have to give. Here you'll find love and heartbreak, but also the messy, loud, quiet parts of life that don't always get talked about. Social truths, personal struggles, little moments of hope-everything tangled together. This is my art, my ritual, my offering. A place where I explore not just the world around me, but the world inside me. If you decide to step inside, I hope you find something that speaks to your own soul-maybe even gives you a voice for things you've never said out loud. This is poetry for the heart, for change, for us. In the past, my poetry was a way to explore and experiment-sometimes searching for connection, sometimes just trying to understand myself better. Now, with Anatomy of the Soul, it's different. This is my space to be completely honest, to share what I couldn't say out loud, and to write for myself first. Whether these poems find readers or not, they are pieces of my soul I needed to release. And if you do find yourself here, I hope these words bring you comfort, a sense of understanding, and the quiet company of someone who feels like you. This is my truth, my voice, my gift.
Let It Consume You
Give yourself time to feel your emotions But don't let them control you Let it consume you But not forever. There are moments in life when you have to let yourself feel, the pain the trauma, the depression the anxiety. There are also moments you have to force yourself out of the darkness, before it fully consumes you. These poems are the moments, when I stewed in my sadness, gave it the steering wheel. But are also the moments I grabbed the wheel and took control. WHEN THE RAIN FORGOT TO FALL
I wrote this because I needed to survive it. Because there are some feelings too big for silence. Some heartbreaks too heavy to carry alone. This isn't fiction. This is my heart, broken open and rearranged into verse. "I saw you standing where the sidewalk curves, and suddenly my chest knew different words." - That's how it started. A glance. A stranger. A feeling I couldn't ignore. "You said we needed to talk. Those five words, I knew. I already knew." - And that's how it ended. Not with fire. With silence. I won't tell you that time heals all wounds. I won't say everything happens for a reason. I won't pretend heartbreak makes you stronger. But I will show you that: You can survive what you think will destroy you. You can break and still become beautiful. You can love someone and lose them and still be whole. You can be your own happy ending. I wrote these poems with tears on my face. I wrote them on good days when I forgot to hurt. Every word is something I actually felt. Every line is a moment I actually lived. "You are not broken. You are breaking open. And that's where the light gets in." - That's what this taught me. That's what I hope it gives you, the comfort of knowing you're not alone.Complete
