I've been on missions before. Dangerous ones. Bloody ones. The kind that test every limit you thought you had. But nothing prepared me for this. We walked into the dark believing we were in control. That's what training does-it gives you the illusion that you're ready for anything. But when the ground itself seems to breathe beneath your boots, when every breath tastes like a warning you can't explain, you learn fast how fragile that illusion really is. We fought to hold the line. We fought to keep each other alive. But the truth is, we weren't fighting something we could defeat-we were fighting something we couldn't understand. That mission didn't end the way it should have. It didn't end at all. It followed us home. It's still with me now. And if I don't find a way to end it, no one will. Chapter 1 may seem like unexperienced first-person writing, but chapter 2 is much better. This will be part 1 in the PROJECT BLOODLOCK Francise and part 1 of the Stonevale Files Arc. WARNINGS: Story may include severe descriptions of death, monsters and gore, among other things. Readers may feel unease and that is intended, to draw the readers into the book, to imagine they are also there. Though, I believe this book will only be extremely scary for ones who cannot deal well with horror, if you watch horror movies often or play horror games, or have a high tolerance for anything remotely scary, then this book is probably for you. Story may remind readers of the Resident Evil Franchise. That is intended as this book is inspired by the Game Franchise, I have not made this a direct copy, I have only heard things and watched a Resident Evil Village gameplay, if anything else is extremely similar, that is just a coincidence. This is meant to give the similar vibe of the Games.

Octaveus was depressed. He knew it, but no one else did. He hid it, just as he hid his scars. He wasn't human either; he hid that too. He hid almost everything about himself from everyone, in order to minimize the ridicule. His mental state, his thoughts, his scars, even his questionable sexuality. But that only fed into his sadness. Drew was insecure. He didn't like standing up for himself in fear of saying something wrong. He didn't even change in the main locker room for PE, he went in the stalls. He was anxious. He wanted to know what was happening and when so that he can prepare for all possible outcomes of that event. And he was gay; his family knew and supported him, but no one else knew. He was too scared of how they would react to tell them. Jessie knew his brother would be teased. It was really a fact. Humanity wasn't too good at accepting of different beings. No matter how human Octaveus made himself look, he couldn't hide his unnaturally pale skin that no matter how hard he tried would not tan or his yellow cat eyes. He just had to try to fit in, same as the rest of their family. Seth was the school bad boy, and secret werewolf. His hobbies included pushing around the Freshman, flirting relentlessly with any and every attractive popular girl in sight, and trying not to think about Octaveus. He didn't want other people to find out about his thoughts on the emo new kid. So, naturally, he made Octaveus's school day a living hell. But he still couldn't figure out why this new kid intrigued him so much, besides that he was obviously not human. {BOOK 1 OF THE 'Scars I Hide' SERIES} *CAUTION: Mature for scenes of self-harm and suicide, PG-13 language, graphic violence, and some sexual topics* IF YOU READ THIS, DO NOT SKIP THE INTRO.
