She was supposed to be invisible.
Just a name on the intern list. Quiet. Plain. Unremarkable.

Cassian Voss didn't notice her-until she sang.

And then he couldn't stop.

Now, she's in his head. In his schedule. In his world. The softness he didn't know he needed. The obsession he can't control.

He watches her like a predator studies prey, drawn to the quiet strength she doesn't even know she carries. She flinches when he gets too close. She stammers when he looks at her too long. She tries to pull away-so he pulls her closer.

He offers her safety, but he cages her gently.
He praises her innocence, then punishes her defiance.
He touches her like she's sacred, but marks her like she's his.

A huge thank to Pininterest creators and Canva for letting me put the pictures in the story.

She's not ready for a man like him.
And he has no patience to wait.

As her world twists into one made of silk sheets, glass walls, and commands whispered like promises, she begins to wonder-when did his protection become possession? And why does some part of her crave it?

He would burn the world to keep her.
He would ruin her peace to taste her devotion.
And she?
She was always the quiet flame destined to set him on fire.

The cold breeze in my face, clinging tightly to my bare arms. My arms wrapped around my torso in an attempt to keep me warm. Tears streaming down my face as memories of Harry's cruel betrayal flood my mind. Of all days, he chose my birthday to hurt me. My red pumps creating a gentle click sound with every contact is made with the tarred road. Creating the only sound the night breeze brings to my ears. Asides from my sobs and the distant barks of the neighborhood dogs. My third sense is suddenly activated as I sense I'm being followed. I smell danger. Walking alone on such desolate streets doesn't seem like the best idea I could have come up with. I wasn't thinking straight when I made that choice. I should have called my driver to come to get me!. This creepy feeling becomes more intense and I decide to do the one thing I know I'm good at; run! I throw my purse and phone away as I begin to run in a frenzy I feel something hot on my trail, when I look back, all I see is dark fog. The more reason to run faster. He was waiting outside the OP, there for his student who had been injured during a fight over a phone. As he sat, casually glancing at his own phone, he suddenly heard the faint sound of a baby crying. Curious, he turned toward the sound-and froze. There, outside the pediatric care unit, sat his wife with their son crying in her arms. His heart ached-it had been months since he last saw his son. His gaze shifted to his wife, gently consoling the child. Her face looked tired, pale, and completely drained. Without a second thought, he stood, tears welling in his eyes. Each step he took felt heavy, his chest tightening with every cry from his son. As he neared, he saw her clothes were faded and worn. Her feet were bare, hardened from walking-clearly straight from the farm. His heart clenched. His eyes moved to his son-he had grown so much. She was so focused on calming the baby that she didn't notice him at first. Tears filled her eyes as she held their feverish child close. He softly called her name. Startled, she looked up-and froze. Then she quickly lowered her gaze and tried to get up. He gently placed a hand on her shoulder, stopping her. She sat back down, turning her face away, quietly wiping her tears. He reached out to take their son. The moment he held him, he felt the heat-his little body was burning with fever. A chill ran through him. After all these months, seeing his child like this was unbearable. He loved his wife and son deeply, but his loyalty to his mother-and obedience to her word-always came first. Between a mother who owned his soul and a wife who held his heart, he was a man torn in a cruel war of love and loyalty. And she-she had given her all to a promise whispered beneath the sacred fire... never knowing that one day, she'd be holding her child, with nothing but a faded vow.
