Its been a year since the Krang tried to take over the world. Leo and his brothers, alongside Casey JR, help save the world, alongside being revealed to the world. For the first time in their lives, humans began to accept them. They even accepted other mutants, plus Yokai from the hidden city. But some yokai have taken advantage of this new territory and have been terrorizing the city, theft being the larger issue. The turtles have been trying to track down this one yokai who has been robbing places non-stop.
While Leo deals with feeling useless and insecurity, Usagi is dealing with the grief of his auntie who he would consider his own mother. Usagis team is on a mission to find a lizard yokai who has stolen from Lord Kogane. Both fighters gained their own trauma through their battles and sacrifices. Through fate, they meet at a pizza place.

BANG. Pain exploded through my leg, knocking me to the floor. "They shot me-my fucking leg!" I screamed, trying to breathe through the panic. My first day working at the museum turned into a nightmare when the Purple Dragons attacked. They found me hiding and shot me, and everything blurred-until a green mutant appeared out of nowhere, trying to save me and the stolen artifacts. I couldn't stand on my own, so he made a split-second decision to take me to his lair, hoping his brother Donnie could help. While recovering, I learned about Leo, his family, the Kraang, and the Foot Clan. I grew close to him-and terrified of his constant need to play hero. Every mission felt like another chance he wouldn't come back. But while I worried about him, something began happening to me: the voices, the visions, the emotions I didn't understand, especially when it came to that blue-masked turtle.
